NOTES
My latest release, “God is our Refuge” features comforting meditative instrumentals inspired by Psalm 46 from the Bible. I believe the Holy Spirit inspired me to create this album to encourage and comfort us all, for we live in very dark, troubled times.
Psalm 46 is one of the most reassuring passages in the Bible. Though written thousands of years ago, it is still timely and relevant today.
Each track in my album was inspired by one of the psalm's 11 verses.
Many of the tracks are piano solos, some are pan flute and string solos, while one of the tracks features the pedal steel guitar.
Each of the songs interpret musically either the comfort, peace, or the spiritual wonder and awe of the scripture passage it represents.
Reading through Psalm 46 before listening to the album is a great way to put your mind at ease, especially if you are experiencing any challenges. The words are very calming and beautiful. I have printed it below.
May the Lord use this album and His word to bless you wherever you are on your path.
Blessings,
Suzanne
Psalm 46:1-11
God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear,
Though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God,
The holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved:
God shall help her, and that right early.
The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved:
He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
Come, behold the works of the Lord,
What desolations He hath made in the earth.
He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth;
He breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder;
He burneth the chariot in the fire.
Be still, and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
*I dedicate this album to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who inspired it, and apart from whom I can do nothing. (John 15:5)
And also to my husband and best friend Mark: you are my treasure.
