Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas and New Year's Holiday!

The Lord gave me a new video piano song to share with you today and I pray it will bless and encourage you as much as you bless and encourage me!

The song is called "Hide God's Word in Your Heart."

I've designed and illustrated three different twelve month scripture calendars so far in the past several years.

The Lord inspired me to do this because with such frequent severe migraines I was getting really discouraged. He wanted to give me hope. So He led me to make Calendars with a Scripture promise for each month to give me hope.

Every month He led me to meditate on the scripture that was featured for that month. His word is a well that can never run dry. No matter how often I studied and meditated on the bible promise for each month, the Lord could lead me to some new insight to give me hope.

My goal came to be to memorize the twelve verses of the calendar by the time the New Year rolled around.

Then the Lord would inspire me to create another calendar with twelve more verses to give me hope to keep persevering.

Psalms 107:20 says, "He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions."

Another way of saying "destructions" is darkness, negativity, emptiness, or hopelessness.

God gave me all of the promises in His word through the gift of creating those scripture calendars.

As I meditated on His word each month I was abiding in Christ's heart and allowing Him to speak to me through His word. He was giving me new hope through the light of His word. This was part of my healing journey.

The Lord showed me that hiding His Word in my heart was far more than using His word as a silly superstitious affirmation or positive quote one hangs on a wall like a good luck charm. For His word has no power to help anyone who makes it into an idol. if we make a god of His word, we dishonor God who is the Author of His Word.

Hiding God's word in our heart means taking the time to find out where did that verse come from in the bible? What are the verses before and after it saying? What is the context of the verse? What is the background?

I could end up going into a full on Bible study with just one quote and one thing can lead to another when studying God's word which is why it is an inexhaustible fountain.

It is always very encouraging to study God's word. But one thing is very important.

Pray before and after and during the study of God's word.

The Psalmist prayed something very profound in Psalms 119 which I make my prayer always. "Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed." Psalms 119:80

May we ever pray to abide in Christ and walk in the light of His truth and in His love with Him daily. We do that by abiding faithfully in prayer and studying His word.

It is also important to find a good Church to attend where God's word is preached and where we can have fellowship with other believers.

Doing all of the above things help us remain strong and united in Christ.

I hope you enjoy the video piano song!

May the Lord fill your hearts with rivers of hope and peace in the coming year, and keep you all safe and well, in Jesus' name.

Much love in Christ,

Suzanne
