Christ Is Praying For Me
The Bible calls Christ our Great Heavenly High Priest who "ever lives to make intercession for the saints."
I like how Eugene Peterson in The Message Bible paraphrases Romans 8: 26-28:
"Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along.
If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us,
making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans.
He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God.
That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good." (Romans 8:26-28 The Message Bible)
The Bible promises us that God is weaving together every detail of our lives into something good even though our present circumstances may seem dark and challenging.
Romans 8:28 says: "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God,"
It is so comforting to me to know in my darkest trials that even if no one else on this earth were praying for me, that Christ is in my heart and He is praying for me. He knows all about my troubles and my needs. He cares very deeply about me for He cherishes me. He loves each person as if they were the only one in the world to love.
Eugene Peterson paraphrases Romans 8:31-39
"So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose?
If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst
by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us?
And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen?
Who would dare even to point a finger?
The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us.
Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us?
There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness,
not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture:
None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us.
I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead,
angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—
absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love
because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us." (Romans 8:31-38 The Message Bible)
The Lord inspired my song, "Christ is Praying for Me" as I meditated on these verses and as I experienced many a time in my walk with Him where I could never have survived without His prayers.

Oh Holy Christ, You pray for me,
Though I can't see or hear,
When no one else is praying, Lord,
I know that You are near.
Though I hear no whisper,
Though I see no form,
I know You're praying for me,
Up in Heaven, Lord.
You're in my heart, oh Lord,
And up in Heaven too,
You're praying for my every need
And all Your prayers come true.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the precious gift of Thy Son Jesus Christ, whom You sent not only to save our souls that we might be forgiven our sins and have eternal life and fellowship with You, but so He could be our eternal Heavenly High Priest to pray always for our every need as we struggle through the challenges of our daily lives.
We need never struggle alone because You have given us Your precious Son. Thank You, Father God, for Your beautiful Gift. We love You! In Jesus' name. Amen.
