Engraved Upon His Hand

Engraved upon My heart,
Engraved upon My hand,
My love for you is measureless
Than all the grains of sand
That line the ocean floor
That mark the boundaries
Of all the earth's deep oceans
Its rivers, lakes, and seas,
And all the sand filled deserts
That weave around the earth
My love for you is as measureless
As the universe.
I love you more than all
The stars that light the sky
The sun and moon and galaxies
My mercy reaches high,
Higher than the clouds
And deeper than Sheol
My love for you will never end
Says Yahweh God, the Lord.
"Engraved Upon His Hand," my 7th album, is a collection of thirteen
peaceful piano solos that were inspired by the Holy Spirit.
As I prayed over this album, the Lord led me in the naming of each
song. He showed me that these instrumental solos were love songs
to His people, reflecting His passion, mercy, and grace toward the
people whom He created in His own image to love.
Some of the songs are prayer songs that the Holy Spirit prayed
through me for particular individuals as He led me to compose the
music.
What is so fascinating to me about these particular tracks is that
each time they are played the prayers woven into the music ascend
to Heaven.
The scriptures affirm that the Holy Spirit prays through us when
we don't know how to pray as we should.
St Paul wrote, "And in the same way—by our faith—the Holy Spirit helps us with our daily
problems and in our praying.
For we don’t even know what we should pray for nor how to pray as we
should, but the Holy Spirit prays for us with such feeling that it cannot be
expressed in words.
And the Father who knows all hearts knows, of course, what the Spirit is
saying as he pleads for us in harmony with God’s own will." ~Romans 8:26-27
Our Lord Jesus Christ, God's Son is at the right hand of our Father God praying for our needs night and day.
Romans 8:34 "Christ... is the one who died for us and came back to
life again for us and is sitting at the place of highest honor next to
God, pleading for us there in heaven.
The ministry of prayer is a form of laying down one's life for another.
Jesus Christ said, "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends." ~ John 15:13
Christ not only gives Himself to us through His eternal prayers for us, He also laid down His life for us all when He suffered and died
for our sins on the cross so that we might be forgiven and redeemed from sin and death and live in intimate fellowship with
our Creator as we were originally created to.
According to the biblical record, we lost intimate fellowship with
our God when the first man and woman, Adam and Eve, sinned, or disobeyed God.
The whole race fell into sin when Adam and Eve sinned. All of their descendants became estranged from God.
God expelled Adam and Eve from the beautiful Paradise that He'd
created for them and where they had known sweet fellowship with
Him until that fatal day when they listened to the serpent in the
Garden and disobeyed God by eating from the Tree of the
Knowledge of Good and Evil.
This sad story is recorded in the Bible in Genesis 3.
God had told Adam and Eve that they could eat from every one of
the beautiful trees in the Garden. But in the middle of the Garden
there were two particular trees, the Tree of Life and the Tree of the
knowledge of Good and Evil. God warned Adam and Eve that
should they ever eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and
Evil then they would die.
The bible says that the Serpent at that time was the craftiest of all
creatures. (Genesis 3:1)
Actually he was God's enemy in disguise~Jesus called him "the
father of lies"~Satan. Jesus indicates in John 10 that Satan is a thief
"who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy."
This was his mission in the Garden...to steal Paradise from our
first parents and to destroy their fellowship with God and to lead
them into spiritual and eventually physical death.
For before they sinned their original perfect human bodies could not die.
Satan whispered to Eve a tempting lie about the fruit from the
forbidden Tree. She succumbed to his lie and enticed her husband
who also fell for the lie.
They lost Paradise in the blink of an eye. In a split second they blew
their eternal fellowship with God.
They not only lost it for themselves but lost it for all of their
descendants born after them.
Our sins always affect more than just ourselves.
Not only did their
bodies begin to die from that moment, the whole creation also
began to die. Nothing physical on earth was eternal anymore.
Everything would have an expiration date from then on...but the
soul within the physical body was still an eternal being and when
the physical body perished that soul had an eternal punishment
awaiting it because of sin.
But God had never wanted the creatures He had created in His own
image to suffer eternal torment.
- God is love. (1 John 4:8)
- Jesus Christ said, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only
- begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
- everlasting life." (John 3:16)
Jesus Christ came to earth to become a living sacrifice for our sins,
to pay the price for our sins so that we could be forgiven and
restored to fellowship with our Heavenly Father.
Why did Jesus have to suffer and die on the cross?
- Because Hebrews 9:22 explains, "The law says that almost everything must be made clean by blood. Sins cannot be forgiven
- without a blood sacrifice."
The sacrifice had to be a spotless sinless one and only God is
spotless and sinless. Only God's Son, the second Person of the
Trinity, could be our sacrifice.
God Himself, our own Creator, loved us so much that He gave His
own precious life for our sins.
- "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the
- Word was God..." John 1:1
Jesus gave up Heaven to become one of us just so He could bleed
and die like we do, suffer pain like we do, suffer temptations like
we do, so that we could accept Him into our hearts and be forgiven
of our sins and be made whole spiritually.
He was torn to pieces, brutally beaten, spat upon, stripped naked,
made a public spectacle, then crucified~~ an excruciatingly painful
way to die~~ all out of His immeasurable love for each one of us.
Scholars say the ultimate cause of death was that His heart
literally exploded on that cross.
Christ's heart broke and we broke it, all of us.
God weeps with love over you and me. He longs for us all to return
to Him. Let not the blood of Jesus Christ have been spilled in vain.
Let His heart not have been broken in vain!
Oh come to Jesus!
Come to him and give Him your heart. He yearns to draw you to
Himself. You are His dream.
He cherishes you.
Please listen to the songs on Engraved. These are God's love songs
to you.
Listen in a quiet place. Hear what He is speaking to your heart. For
He has a special word for each and every person who listens to
these songs. He speaks in the quiet places of our souls in His still,
small voice.
He speaks with the voice of love for He is love. (1 John 4:8)
Prayer
Heavenly Father, May we never let Thy Son have suffered in vain for us, but let each
of us come to Thy throne and receive Jesus into our hearts, his
pure spotless blood wash away all our sins and redeem our souls
for You forever, in Jesus' holy name. We love You, Lord, Amen.
